According to health officials, Lucknow has the highest number of COVID-19 instances in Uttar Pradesh, with 64 additional patients testing positive for the illness in the last 24 hours. On Sunday, 69 patients recovered, bringing the total number of current COVID cases in Lucknow to 514.

The data from the health department showed that one COVID-positive patient died in Lakhimpur Kheri district on Sunday, while 352 others tested positive in Uttar Pradesh. The officials added that the test positivity rate in the state is 1.63.

New COVID-19 cases were reported from Aliganj (110), Indira Nagar (10), Alambagh (16), Chinhat (9), and Tudiyaganj (4). Lucknow tests around 3,000 COVID samples every day, with a test-positive rate of more than two.

The health department data showed that with the recovery of 434 patients across the state, the number of active cases tallied up to 2,897, including 309 cases in Lakhimpur Kheri as of Sunday. Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the state has reported 21,42,835 COVID-19 cases and 23,685 fatalities.
